Why Herbal Medicine?
We have so much to learn from the world of plants. Herbal medicine is as much about our connection to plants and to the earth as it is about supporting our personal well-being. Using herbs grown without chemicals supports not only those that benefit from the use of the plants, but supports the planet, healing our bodies naturally while we heal the land around us.
It is my deep belief that establishing relationships with our own bodies is of the utmost importance, and gratefully using herbs to aid and support that relationship is an incredible healing process in and of itself. We can drink nourishing herbal tea and ingest herbs as food and medicine on a daily basis, adding not only to our own physical, psychological, and emotional experience, but connect us more deeply to the earth as an integral part of wellness.
More important than “curing” or “treating” any illnesses or ailments, herbs can help prevent them, providing important nutrients, balancing your nervous system, bolstering your body’s immune response, encouraging regular hormone production, and supporting your psychological and emotional wellbeing. When we consume medicinal plants, our bodies become stronger, more balanced, and more resilient.
The herbs grown in the Night Garden are plants I have worked with closely and which I trust deeply. My direct experiences with these plants have helped me understand their gifts, and make me better able to recommend plant medicine that will support my clients.
